What is Team VPA?

Team Vegan Powered Athlete (VPA) was established in 2020 with a simple mission: to promote the vegan message through sport and show what is possible on a plant-based lifestyle.

We are runners, cyclists, triathletes, swimmers, ultra-endurance athletes, ruckers, CrossFit and Spartan athletes, and everyday athletes of all abilities. From beginners tackling their first event to experienced athletes competing for podiums, there is no pace, distance, or finish time required to belong here.

What matters is that you show up, challenge yourself, support the people around you, and represent the vegan and plant-based community in a positive way.

Team VPA stands for community over competition. We train hard and pursue our individual goals, but we also value the journey, the friendships, and the people behind the jersey. We celebrate each other’s successes, support one another through setbacks, share what we’ve learned, and genuinely want to see our teammates succeed.

We also believe that some of the most powerful advocacy happens simply by showing up. Every time you wear VPA gear at a race, group ride, gym, trail, or training session, you have an opportunity to spark a conversation, plant a seed, and challenge someone’s perception of what a vegan athlete looks like.

Our goal isn’t to tell everyone they have to follow the same path. We believe in meeting people where they are, leading through positivity, education, and example, and demonstrating what vegan athletes can achieve.

Whether your motivation comes from the animals, the planet, your health, athletic performance, or a combination of them, you’ll find teammates who share a commitment to living an active, compassionate lifestyle.

Most importantly, Team VPA is a team. We may live in different places, compete in different sports, and chase very different goals, but we’re connected by common values and a willingness to support one another along the way.

Vegan-powered. Community-driven. Stronger together.
