Lessons learned at San Francisco Marathon with team athlete Doug

Last weekend one of our teammates Doug @mindsetcoachforrunners got out and showed vegan support during the San Francisco Marathon. Here’s some of what he had to say:
“Overall, I would rate this performance as a 4/10.
At the start line, I talked to myself for a long time in private to center myself, but I couldn’t get out of my head that I had missed too many workout sessions—running, weight training, balance sessions, etc.—during the training season and as a result didn’t feel physically and mentally ready.
Once the figurative gun fired, I was semi-OK mentally. My usual mantra of “run your own race, Doug” worked most of the time. But physically I just wasn’t ready and it was All. My. Fault.
Nevertheless, it was the most beautiful run I’ve ever done.”
Way to go Doug!
